RJV awarded Subiaco Oval demolition project
As part of the Subi East Development and on behalf of the Western Australian State Government via Landcorp, RJV has been appointed to carry out demolition and remediation works to the iconic Subiaco Oval.
The project involves the relocation of existing high profile tenants transitioning into a construction site, management of heritage listings both on site and within the surrounding neighbourhood, removal of hazardous materials and completion of major demolition works within a built up residential / commercial area. The project scope will also involve the returfing of the Subiaco playing surface for community purposes and for use by the neighbouring Bob Hawke College.
RJV are working closely with the local aboriginal community in the areas of employment and business engagement. The success of our strategies in providing long term employment and business relationships with the aboriginal community will be a key factor in the overall success of the project once completed.
Recycling is another key measurable that will define success. Concrete is being processed off site and being used in upcoming road construction on behalf of MRWA, with other materials such as steel, timber, bricks and glass being re-used for a number of different applications off site. Our processes are compliant with the Green Building Council – Green Star Construction & Demolition Waste Reporting Criteria.
The Subiaco Oval precinct is an iconic location within Perth and Western Australia. RJV are proud to be associated with the project and look forward to a successful delivery for our client and wider Subiaco community.
