RJV awarded York–Merredin Shoulder Sealing Project for Main Roads WA
RJV is proud to announce the award of the York–Merredin Shoulder Sealing Project, marking an important milestone as our first project to be delivered for Main Roads WA.
The project involves the widening and sealing of the existing Quairading York Road pavement between the townsites of York and Quairading. The works extend from approximately 29km east of York to 45km east of York, delivering around 16km of continuous upgraded roadway.
The project involves the widening and sealing of the existing Quairading York Road pavement between the townsites of York and Quairading. The works extend from approximately 29km east of York to 45km east of York, delivering around 16km of continuous upgraded roadway.
The scope includes boxing out sections of the existing traffic lanes and shoulders, offset 2.1m from the existing centreline, to allow for replacement with 200mm of new basecourse and a two-coat seal. The remaining traffic lanes will be retained, with only a minor 150mm overlap required on both sides and no full overlay or resealing works.
Additional works will include the removal and replacement of roadside infrastructure, such as guideposts, signage, and linemarking, to meet current standards. The road currently operates under a 110km/h speed limit and features minimal elevation changes and limited high-speed corners, allowing works to be delivered efficiently while maintaining safety for road users.
The project alignment intersects an existing railway corridor requiring close coordination with arc infrastructure, as well as multiple waterway crossings via bridges and tributaries.
RJV looks forward to working collaboratively with Main Roads WA and key stakeholders to successfully deliver this project. This award represents an important step for RJV and reinforces our capability to deliver high-quality civil infrastructure works across regional Western Australia.
