Yanchep Beach Joint Venture
Overview
RJV were awarded the Yanchep City Centre project in 2021 having worked closely with the consulting engineers to develop both a cost and time effective solution to the client’s requirements.
The project consists of three separate portions:
- The extension of Marmion Avenue from Yanchep Beach Road by approximately 2km and the new construction of Torreopango for approximately 1.8km
- The extension of St Andrews drive
- The new construction of a connector road from St Andrews to Marmion Avenue
Detail
Works commenced in mid-2021 with clearing to assist in the Metronet project – Yanchep Rail Extension (YRE).
Bulk earthworks got underway in late 2021 with works expected to reach completion by early 2023.
Current project works consist of more than 500,000m3 cut to fill in both rock and sand conditions, more than 8km of deep services and 70,000m2 of road pavement construction – the equivalent of 10 lineal kms of domestic road construction.
It also presents some significant construction challenges with the requirement to bulk earthwork and trench through rock containing a large diameter existing gas main which provides supply to in excess of 10,000 homes.
The project directly interfaces with the Metronet YRE project throughout, including the need to tie our works into two separate bridge structures with both pavements and underground services.
