Overview

RJV continues its presence on the Subiaco East redevelopment project, with the recent award of Subiaco East stage 1A civils.

This follows on from RJV’s successful delivery of the demolition of Subiaco Oval together with the current works being undertaken at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Detail

The overall Subi East project will see the rejuvenation of 35ha of land to create a vibrant new north-eastern gateway to Subiaco, one that respects and celebrates the rich heritage of the area, while realising the importance of its prominent location on the doorstep of the Perth CBD.

The construction of the Perth Children’s Hospital and Optus Stadium have created an exciting opportunity to redevelop the Subiaco Oval and former Princess Margaret Hospital sites as part of this transformation.

The Subi East Stage 1A Civil Works project involves the upgrading of the existing Subiaco Oval precinct bounded by Coghlan Road, Haydn Bunton Drive, Roberts Road and the Fremantle Railway Line reserve.

The works include reworking the existing oval and landscaping features installed as part of the forward phase of works following demolition and remediation of the Subiaco Stadium.

Subiaco Road is also upgraded to suit the pedestrian-sensitive design for the precinct and connected to Haydn Bunton Drive through construction of a new left-in left-out intersection.

This new roadway provides upgraded levels of service between the West Leederville train station and the facilities and services associated with the Subi East Redevelopment which include, schools, public open space, businesses and residents.

This $10 million dollar project is due to commence in Jan 2022 and expected to be completed in December 2022.
