Key Challenges

The Davyhurst Project stretches over 1200km2 and consists of multiple historic workings. The restart of operations at Siberia centred around re-establishing Sandking and Missouri pits, removing low grade stockpiles for mill feed and commencing works to enable the first stages of the Sandking cut-back. The location of Siberia, approximately 37km from the centrally located processing facility and main Davyhurst operations meant RJV had to work self-sufficiently, with workshop and site facilities established aware from the main operations locations at Davyhurst. RJV coordinated and managed works effectively and safely, ensuring accurate material tracking of identified low-grade stockpiles from previous operations, and ensuring that initial cut-backs were established safely. RJV worked with the client to develop the required site infrastructure at Siberia, working to establish haul roads, ROM pad and laydown areas suitable for the proposed overland haul back to the processing facility.

RJV Advantage

RJV’s broad range of equipment resources and experience in working independently on remote works meant that completing the re-start of mining operations within the limitations of the historic workings was completed safely and effectively.
