New large-scale workshop facility on its way

2 May, 2024

We are pleased to announce we have secured a strategically located 18,000sqm site in Malaga to develop a brand-new large-scale workshop and yard facility which will allow us to better service our increasing portfolio of metro civil projects.

Situated on the corner of Alexander Drive, the workshop which will be managed by our newly appointed Maintenance Superintendent Metro, Peter Coggon.

Enhancing our capabilities to optimise productivity

The new state-of-the-art facility represents a significant investment in our operations and will play a crucial ongoing role in enhancing our capabilities, efficiency and service.

With a larger space and dedicated team of HD and LV mechanics, the space will deliver a number of benefits to our operations and clients including:

  • Capability to service and maintain more plant simultaneously, streamlining processes and efficient workflows for quick turnaround times to minimise downtime and maximise productivity for our operations
  • Increased capacity to carry additional routable spare parts
  • A dedicated area for available plant, facilitating fast mobilisation to sites
  • The latest technology and machinery to handle a wide range of heavy equipment maintenance, repair and overhaul tasks. From advanced diagnostics to welding and fabrication, we will have the tools and expertise to get the job done right.

Safety and sustainability

In everything we do, our belief is that we are “Better Together”. We prioritise the safety and security of our workshop team members and will implement the same robust safety protocols and security measures at our new site that are stringently adhered to in our existing workshop.

We are committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Our workshop facility incorporates eco-friendly practices and technologies to minimise our carbon footprint. Our aim is to utilise renewable energy as much as possible at the new site in addition to best practice waste separation and disposal.

Employment opportunities and development

By creating new local job opportunities, we intend our new workshop facility to ‘Make a Positive Impact’ on the local community.

We expect to further grow our team of HD mechanics, dual trade HD mechanics, automotive electricians and HD apprentices, providing opportunities for them to develop and strengthen existing skills in a clean and well-equipped workshop. Any vacancies will be available on our job board.

Next steps

Over the coming weeks we will be relocating some of our assets and resources to the site from our existing workshop located at our head office site in Balcatta. Our existing workshop will continue to operate as usual, alongside the new facility.
