Civil & Urban division leadership appointments

29 June, 2026

RJV is pleased to announce two key leadership appointments:

Construction Manager Dermot Walsh is stepping into the role of General Manager

  • Civil & Urban and Senior Project Manager Chris West is moving into his new position as Construction Manager.

Dermot first joined RJV in October 2012 as a Site Engineer, progressing to Project Manager by 2018. He subsequently took on a secondment in NSW, before returning to RJV in November 2022 as a Senior Project Manager. He continued to demonstrate strong leadership capability and transitioned into the role of Construction Manager in November 2024.

Across more than a decade with the business, Dermot has built a deep base of operational knowledge and a proven track record of leading complex projects. His breadth of experience and leadership position him well to guide RJV’s Civil & Urban division as it moves forward.

Chris West begins his new role as Construction Manager in July 2026. Chris started his journey with RJV as a student engineer in November 2011, before joining permanently as a Site Engineer in December 2013. Over the past decade, he has developed into a highly capable and trusted leader, contributing significantly to the successful delivery of numerous projects. His long tenure, technical expertise and strong connection to our teams make him a natural fit for the role.

RJV CEO Tim Ryan said the appointments reflected the strength of leadership within the business.

Dermot and Chris have both been part of the RJV story for well over a decade and in that time they’ve consistently shown the leadership, judgement and operational strength these roles demand,” Mr Ryan said. “I’m confident that Dermot and Chris’s capabilities, along with the expertise of the broader construction management team, will lead the Civil & Urban division into its next chapter, building on RJV’s strong foundations and driving the division forward.

We congratulate them both and look forward to seeing the division go from strength to strength.
