Senior leadership team
John Vincent
John joined the family business in 1968 after gaining general business experience in a national merchandising company. He has worked tirelessly to take the company from a turnover of $1m to a highly successful multi-million dollar company offering a diverse range of civil contracting services.
In 1988, John took full ownership of the company and has since represented the industry in a number of high profile positions including former president of Earthmovers & Road Contractors Federation and inaugural president of the WA Civil Contractors Federation.
Tim Ryan
Prior to joining RJV in 2002, Tim had worked extensively in both Australia and Africa in the private and public sectors. Since joining RJV Tim has managed a range of complex projects across road, rail, marina and land development disciplines.
Tim has grown and developed with the business through positions of contracts manager, manager of our civil infrastructure division, and at the start of 2018 Tim took on the role of chief executive officer. With his focus on continuous improvement Tim continues to build RJV’s reputation as a leader in its field.
Gary Ausbruch
Gary is a chartered accountant and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He joined RJV in May 2020 and has over 20 years of experience predominantly in the engineering and mining sectors.
Most recently Gary spent over five years as the chief financial officer of an engineering and contracting company, and prior to this, as group financial controller of a mining company. Gary also worked in various commercial and finance roles within Rio Tinto, and spent six years in KPMG’s risk advisory services business. At RJV, Gary is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day financial management of the business and is also the company secretary.
Ellis Atherton
Ellis joined RJV in 2004, bringing with him site based civil construction skills, together with project management experience, from both metropolitan and regional WA. Originally joining RJV as a project supervisor, Ellis subsequently accepted the position of project manager in 2006, overseeing the delivery of a number of high volume developments in a rapidly expanding market.
This was followed by his appointment to the RJV construction manager position in 2012, working closely with the project management team in continuing to deliver successful outcomes for both new and existing clients. In recognition of his development within the company, Ellis was appointed to the role of civil infrastructure manager in 2018.
Gregg Ireland
Gregg Ireland is an accomplished executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in business and operations management, specialising in general mining services and civil construction. Holding an MBA and a Graduate Diploma in Business, Gregg has a distinguished track record of driving growth and operational excellence across various sectors.
Gregg joined RJV following over six years as CEO of an aboriginal owned mining contractor during which he spearheaded the company’s significant growth. His tenure was marked by strategic contract negotiations, successful implementation of ISO certifications, and effective leadership of diverse teams.
Brian Finney
Brian acquired his trade certificates in the UK and later added certificates in road and traffic management. With an extensive trade background in the UK, Brian moved to Australia and joined RJV in 1989.
After working initially in the company’s workshop, he now runs RJV’s maintenance operations at the company’s workshops in Balcatta and is responsible for RJV’s various on-site maintenance divisions with a dedicated resource management team available at all sites.
Sean Coyle
Sean brings with him over 15 years of experience working in HSEQ roles, with a combination of both operational HSEQ advisory on major projects and national-level management.
Having a strong background working in civil, mining and oil and gas with over 25 years of construction experience, Sean holds a unique ground-up experience which brings a valuable perspective to RJV’s operations, practices and company culture.
Matt Fenttiman
Matt joined RJV in January 2021 as people and culture manager, having previously spent over 20 years within the transport & logistics industry. Matt brings with him experience in a number of senior positions across all areas of human resources, compliance, safety & divisional management.
He has demonstrated success delivering systems, driving change, building teams and implementing strategic initiatives. As people and culture manager, Matt is focused on building and developing employee culture, designing and implementing people systems and delivering on the company’s strategic objectives.
